In 2011 For Art Sake Australia hired greeting card veteran Jeff Driscoll to launch and run their newly formed US Division. Jeff embraced the challenge and within a few months had an extensive small business customer base and rep network. Working closely with the Australia team on product design and mix , Jeff doubled sales revenue within 12 months. Jeff then carefully crafted a greeting card spinner program with a 90 day return policy. Hundreds sold, less than 3% returned.
At the end of 2015, For Art Sake Australia negotiated the rights to Carol's Rose Garden/Carol Wilson Fine Arts. As a heritage USA stationery brand Carol Wilson had a huge following for its embossed and die-cut greeting card and stationery products showcasing beautiful hand painted florals and fauna.
To grow the business, Jeff shifted resources and manufacturing to expand the Carol's Rose Garden product line. By 2018, Jeff and Driscoll Sales Consultants Inc had acquired full ownership of Carol Wilson Fine Arts/Carol's Rose Garden and For Arts Sake USA. Heavy focus was then placed on growing the brand through digital sales channels, non-paper related gift products, brand licensing and international distribution.
With a strong partnership in place with Bellaflor in Canada, Driscoll Greeting Cards was able to secure a new product line launch in the USA. Working closely with the Bellaflor and the Ink On Paper team we created and executed a launch plan for Hopper's greeting card and gift enclosure card line. Cute whimsical animals captured the card market with a fresh look! Hopper quickly became a "displacer" brand, taking over retail footage from other greeting card vendors.
Soon after, Bellaflor and Ink On Paper added a slew of high quality gift items to the line. A careful sales plan capitalized on the card success to get placement for the gift items. Digital channels and a large expansion with independent reps also grew the business quickly.
One of our best and most fun launches! Launching the Alex Clark line of cards and gift items was successful due to a heavy push in many sales channels simultaneously.
We recognized early on the Alex Clark line was a ubiquitous product line, meaning it has something for everyone. Grandma could pick an item for a kid, a mom could choose something for her tennis partner, a niece something for her uncle.
This singular observation laid the ground work for a large scale multi-channeled launch. The initial core sales began with greeting cards as a singular easy entry point. Card sales grew quickly and when the gift items were introduced sales took off. Retailers and consumers loved the fresh look of this quickly growing UK brand.
New sales channels, marketing efforts and brand extension products followed quickly.
Welcome to the USA Alex Clark Art!
The Gifted Stationery Company is a UK based higher end social stationery brand that is seeing phenomenal growth.
To begin a USA launch for Gifted we examined the brand's meaning and took into consideration the high quality of the products themselves. We immediately recognized Gifted products are lifestyle products. Indulgent to give and indulgent to buy for yourself.
We took a more grass roots approach to Gifted. We began by showcasing the products at Trade Shows in Atlanta and Las Vegas. This helped us determine retail sectors to grow from. We also launched with 35 road sales reps. The combo of the two gave us actionable data to expand the program into other digital and brick and mortar sales channels.
When the pandemic hit and the retail landscape was changing rapidly, Driscoll Greeting Cards got to work on development of a supplemental product category to help drive overall sales for For Arts Sake USA and Carol Wilson Fine Arts.
And SmileT's was born! SmileT's was a completely new brand. We built it from the ground up. It was launched in July 2020 and the humor flour sack cotton tea towels were welcomed by retailers with open arms. We examined tea towel price points from a number of areas around the globe. Our research showed a tea towel was an easy grab and go gift for a consumer, especially if they were buying a greeting card. We also crafted an all inclusive spinner program. 72 towel pieces with display or 144 towel pieces with display. An easy decision for a store buyer.
Our second tier effort for the brand included selling on digital wholesale market places as well as product placement with retail buying groups.
Humor cards have always been a main stay of the greeting card category. In conjunction with For Art Sake USA Driscoll Greeting Cards brought Australian cartoonist Mark Lynch to the USA.
Launched at the January 2018 Las Vegas Winter Buyer's Market, the bright pops of color, newsprint feel and humor laid the ground work for strong sales across traditional greeting card retailers and "unexpected" retail categories including liquor stores and spas.
At the pinnacle of the brand's rapid growth was a well managed display program that included competitor buy outs, branded signage, free fixturing, dead stock credits and free product based on sales volume.
Another big success factor was the addition of new cards and a low retail price point. Blended together Mark Lynch hit a homerun with retailers!

Tatty came to Driscoll Sales Consultants Inc for help with launching the brand to the USA. We took a careful look at the brand's evolution as well as the extensive product mix and greeting cards.
We reached out to several of our heritage retailers for feedback on the line and garnered interesting findings. First, retail price point was going to be an objection. Second, the product selection needed to be pared down. Third, the greeting cards did not appeal to the buyers.
We acted on all our research findings and created a plan to showcase the brand at trade shows and direct to retail. With sales steady and growing, we launched phase two which was to target buying groups where cute gift would sell.
Tatty made a splash in the USA!
An industry contact reached out to Driscoll Sales Consultants about helping to grow the Dexsa brand outside of their regional footprint. Dexsa is a family owned, religious/spiritual based business. Dexsa has a full line of spiritual and inspirational wall art, book marks, mugs, mugs, soap dispensers and more.
Their challenge was coverage in all states across the USA, including Alaska and Hawaii. Our launch plan for Dexsa was solely based on us building an independent rep network. We focused heavily on sales training and points of differentiation. Another key to Dexsa's growth was identifying easy sell pre-packs as tester items. Dexsa saw steady growth monthly.
We partnered with Red Robin Publishing to bring their high quality and vast selection of calendars to the USA Market. Initially we leveraged industry connections at online and traditional box retailers to get a foot in the door. We also devised a small business retail program that included quick and easy pre-pack calendar displays. This acted as a low cost entry point for those who wanted calendar products to sell without over buying.
We also incorporated an on the road calendar sales program for over 75 independent road sales reps. Arming the reps with samples, target customers and a "spiff" sales incentive.

When you need a laugh Dean Morris cards fit the bill! Ink On Paper in Canada sought the help of Driscoll Sales Consultants to launch the edgy, off center humor greeting card line from the UK called Dean Morris. After a bit of market research Driscoll Sales Consultants was able to identify a distinct audience sector. While many of the cards are general humor many of them are explicit in text and imaging. They truly have a unique place in retail.
Our efforts began with a comprehensive roll out to a large network of independent sales reps. We wanted to identify key retail sectors and we found them! Sales grew for the Dean Morris line and they are a mainstay in defined retail sectors.

Inspiration comes in many forms... In the summer of 2019, Driscoll Sales Consultants were visiting with our friends from Bellaflor in our Atlanta Showroom. Our conversation was around emerging product categories including tea towels. As we talked a woman with a scowl on her face kept passing the window. We tossed around towel ideas and then quite quickly decided on Bellaflor naming the brand Scrunchy Face!
From the get-go Scrunchy Face took off! Low wholesale pricing, product bundling and an earth friendly display pre-pack skyrocketed sales. A large push was made via road reps, in digital channels and direct to retailer.
A lot can be said for finding unique up and coming brands. Sometimes that quick idea hits and it has meat to it!
Such was the case with Cheeky 53 Greeting Cards. Their concept was cute...a play on words to express sentiment. A true combo item of a greeting card and keepsake framed art all in one. Driscoll Sales Consultants jumped in early on to help Cheeky 53 refine its product offering and create a foundation for building a revenue generating sales stream. First we did a brand evaluation to identify gaps. Then a competitive analysis to see if there was room for sales growth. Next we tackled building a distribution network and built a sales network. All the pieces fit and Cheeky 53 saw growth.
One of the beautiful things of being experts in social stationery and greeting cards is being able to react with quickness.
In the heart of the pandemic two of our large US distributors came to us begging for more sympathy and remembrance greeting cards as their sales of those items sky rocketed.
We put our design team on it right away. We researched what flowers and still images resonated. We selected art work and wrote sentiments. Then we had them produced in the USA!
Within 10 days our two distributors had over 36 new sympathy and remembrance cards to place with their retailers.
